Additional Information

When patients are dealing with serious healthcare conditions, they face critical decisions about treatment. They want personally relevant information. NexProfiler™ treatment option tools answer this need. Unlike other information sources that provide general disease and treatment descriptions, these unique interactive tools deliver only the information that is specific and relevant to each patient's individual clinical situation. Patients save time by focusing on relevant treatment options, descriptions and side effects. Physicians spend less time clarifying misconceptions and more time on the patient's clinical situation.

The NexProfiler Tool is an easy-to-use Internet-based lung health decision-support tool that helps people with Asthma. Developed in cooperation with the American Lung Association it was launched on their website in February 2003. Since then, over 4,000 patients have used this tool to help them learn about their conditions and their treatment options.

The NexProfiler tools are free: there are no hidden fees or charges and all information is confidential. To use the NexProfiler Tool a user name (your email address) and a password are required. When registering for the NexProfiler Tool, you may opt-in or opt-out of free subscription services.

The NexProfiler Tool is a user-friendly interactive Web-based tool that creates a personalized and confidential review to help patients manage their lung health. The tool matches the user's medical history and personal preferences to a carefully selected group of peer-reviewed clinical research studies. The NexProfiler Tool provides personalized treatment options and side effects information, along with specific questions that will help patients discuss their conditions with their physicians. The NexProfiler Tool provides summaries of published studies that relate directly to each individual's personal health status.

The NexProfiler Tool was patented by NexCura, a Seattle-based health care education and information company that develops proprietary, Internet-based, clinical knowledge applications for patients, caregivers and providers to facilitate communication and promote better informed decisions about treatment options and care.
