New Regulations for Passengers Using Oxygen Devices on Airplanes

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) published a final rule regarding traveling on airlines with devices, including ventilators, respirators, continuous positive pressure (CPAP) machines and portable oxygen concentrators (POC). The rule, which has wide sweeping implications for travelers with lung diseases who require oxygen, will go into effect on May 13, 2009. read more...

American Lung Association Founder Honored with New U.S. Postage Stamp

As part of its Distinguished Americans series, the U.S. Postal Service released a new 76 cent stamp today that honors Dr. Edward Livingston Trudeau. Dr. Trudeau dedicated his life to researching and treating tuberculosis, a highly infectious disease that at one time killed one in seven people in the US. read more...
