Florida Thoracic Society
The Florida Thoracic Society (FTS), a chapter of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), is a professional medical organization whose membership consists of physicians and other qualified health professionals, dedicated to improving the lives of patients with lung disease through advocacy, education and research.
Since 1947, the Florida Thoracic Society has served as the medical section of the American Lung Association in Florida, acting in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors.
Members of the Florida Thoracic Society serve on the Council of Chapter Representatives of the American Thoracic Society. The Florida Thoracic Society is an officially recognized specialty group of the Florida Medical Association (FMA) and is represented on the FMA Council of Specialty Medicine, FMA Council on Legislation and FMA Board of Governors and House of Delegates.
